Fruit is a magical food naturally low in calories and packed with vitamins, minerals, amino acids, fatty acids, fiber and most importantly, simple sugars.

Simple Sugars found in raw fruits are the main fuel for the body.  These sugars are as essential to the body as gasoline is to an automobile.  It helps to run the body via the cells. This is one reason why the body becomes stronger, vibrant and more energetic on these foods.   Glucose is the primary source of energy for the body and is the only fuel used by brain cells.  Glucose and Fructose are both simple sugars and when partnered together in a whole, raw food like FRUIT it is the perfect fuel for our species.  It provides readily available energy with very little effort from the body.

I love what  Joe Dubs had to say about the relationship between humans and fruit.  “Humans are designed to eat mostly fruit. We’re frugivores, just like monkeys and chimps. We have the same physiology, the same stomach acidity, the same tooth structure, the same sweat glands, etc. The evidence that shows we humans are primarily fruit eaters is so overwhelming, that it just goes to show how influential our educational indoctrination truly is.

We are the most biologically advanced species on Earth. Fruit is the most advanced part of a plant. It has to be, since it’s responsibilities relies solely on the progeny of the plant itself.  Fruit isn’t just ‘fruit’. It is ‘the Fruit’, the fruit of the plant. The fruit contains the seed of the plant, it’s only hope for survival. Because of this, the fruit is biologically designed to be the most advanced part of the plant, and extremely appealing to frugivorous onlookers who will hopefully spread its seeds far and wide. It’s vitally important for fruit to stand out with its vibrant colors and appealing aroma. It’s begging to be picked off the branch, eaten and reproduced. It’s a mutually beneficial trade off. The fruit eaters get to enjoy a mighty tasty snack, and in exchange we assist the plant’s propagation and reproduction. Everybody wins.”

People may ask me, “Won’t fruit make me fat or give me diabetes because of all the sugar?” Well, I am excited to tell you no they will not and that they will actually rebuild the pancreas and adrenal glands which are main issues in diabetes and obesity.

“Won’t the fruit sugars feed candida?”  I love Dr. Robert Morse’s response to this question; “Fruits are vital in helping the body eliminate candida because they are high in antioxidant and astringent properties.  These properties clean the lymphatic congestion out of the tissues, which is essential because congestion is the “home” for these little critters.  Complex sugars are another story.  They are super fuels (or food) for Candida.”

The diet and medical industries have been so successful at spreading their lies, that they have made us believe that fruit, the most perfect food for humans, will actually make us sick and gain weight! Friends, that is just purely insane!  Natural, simple sugars are not the enemy, they are your best friend. Raw fruit contains in abundance what every single cell in our body needs to not only survive but also thrive, and it will provide you with nourishment, energy, and positivity, because fruit is also extremely high in mood-enhancing serotonin.

Have you ever met someone who doesn’t like fruit? I sure haven’t. We’re told that it’s high in sugar so we should limit our intake, however fruit doesn’t contain sugar, at least not our conception of it. We’ve mistakenly equated man-made sugar with God-made sugar. It’s not the same stuff, not even close. One promotes cancer and death, the other, health and vitality.

Fruits provide many essential nutrients & benefits. Below are just a few:

  • Potassium – high blood pressure, heart disease, kidney stones, bone loss.
  • Dietary fiber – helps reduce blood cholesterol levels, heart disease, obesity and type 2 diabetes. Also important for proper bowel function and satisfies your hunger helping you to maintain a healthy body weight.
  • Vitamin C – Important for growth and repair of all body tissues and keeps teeth and gums healthy. Provides antioxidant defense against infection and disease.
  • Folate (folic acid) – Helps the body form red blood cells and helps reduce the risk of birth defects.
  • Most fruits are naturally low in calories, sodium and fat – with zero cholesterol!
  • Fruits are cleansing, healing and help to alkalize the body.
  • Foods high in protein and low in sugars or foods high in complex sugars, rob the body of vital energy, create acidosis and will elevate blood sugars. Fruit will do the opposite.

The Standard American Diet puts such an emphasis on getting what they describe as “enough protein”.  This is mostly because they want to push the government subsidized meat, dairy and egg industries.  So where do we find the protein we need in the plant kingdom then?  From all plant based foods!! Every plant has amino acids that our bodies convert to protein.  There is no such thing as a protein deficiency.

According to the National Center for Bio-technical Information, research has shown that human mother’s milk contains 0.8% – 0.9% protein.  That is less than one percent!  This tells us that for a growing baby, that is all the protein that we require by design!  What happens when we stop growing?  Protein’s main function is to provide the building blocks for growth.  High protein drinks will strain the kidneys and the pancreas.  Even a diet consisting of ONLY fruits will give us more protein than we actually need to survive (an average of 5% – 20% depending on the fruit).

Fruits include:

Banana, Peach, Pear, Plum, Papaya, Pomegranate, Grape, Apple, Cherry, Date, Mango, Jackfruit, Durian, Pineapple, Lemon, Lime, Orange, Grapefruit, Strawberries, Blackberries, Raspberries, Blueberries, Coconut, Avocado, Tomato, Cucumber, Bell Pepper, Pumpkin, Squash, Zucchini, Watermelon, Cantaloupe, Honeydew (eat melons by themselves)

Make sure to eat fruit first on an empty stomach and by itself.  When fruit is eaten soon after a cooked meal (even a plant-based one) it will sit on top of the cooked foods and start to ferment, causing gas, heartburn, indigestion and so on. Remember, fruit is already partially digested for us and wants to move through the digestive tract a lot faster than cooked foods, thanks to the live enzymes in the fruit.   As we say in our house, “Fruit First!”

I encourage people to eat as much fresh, ripe fruit as they can.  Fruit is our species specific diet so obviously, the higher percentage of fruit that you eat, the better.  Smoothies are always a hit and anyone can make them.
